Job Requirements

Lutheran Family & Children's Services is seeking a compassionate leader and professional to help guide and supervise foster care and case management services. DUTIES: • Supervise local case managers/social workers and social work students. • Coordinate clinical activities and programs. • Provide quality direct services to clients. • Coordinate training workshops. • Collaborate and develop working relationships with local agencies. QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's degree in Social Work or other related field. • Minimum of 2 years working with children/families preferably in foster care or kinship care. • Supervisory experience preferred. Must be a licensed drive with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organization requirements. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: • Accomplished social work practices, child welfare and parenting skills. • Knowledge of grief and loss issues; outcome measurement; child development. • Cultural competency • Effective networking skills, decision-making and supervisory skills, planning and organizational skills, and leadership abilities. • Ability to be creative and innovative. • Effective communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; climb up to 5 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 24 pounds and carry up to 24 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to access, enter, modify, and retrieve data on a personal computer. The employee is also required to read, write, and speak the English language.
