LFCS is seeking compassionate, professional Social Workers and/or Case Managers for the St. Louis Office to provide case management, pregnancy counseling, and parenting/adoption education and support through our Pregnancy, Parenting & Adoption Services in St. Louis, Missouri. They will have the opportunity to provide and maintain child welfare services, counseling and case management services to pregnant women, birth families, adoptive families, as well as families in crisis.

Job Requirements

Lutheran Family & Children's Services is seeking a compassionate leader and professional to guide and supervise Child Welfare Services for Saint Louis, Missouri. They will help coordinate statewide Child Welfare programs, giving input and direction that will affect the region. DUTIES: Supervise child welfare staff and social work students. Coordinate clinical activities and programs. Provide quality direct services to clients. Coordinate training workshops. Collaborate and develop working relationships with local agencies. Be available and knowledgeable to respond to inquiries regarding child welfare services. QUALIFICATIONS: •Master's degree in Social Work or other related field. •Two years experience in Child Welfare or related field. •Two years experience supervisory experience. Must be a licensed drive with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and organization requirements. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Established social work practices, Child Welfare and parenting skills. Knowledge of grief and loss issues, outcome measurement, and child development. Cultural competency, the ability to be creative and innovate, networking skills, decision making and supervisory skills, planning and organizational skills, oral and written communication skills, leadership and presentation skills. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Established social work and case management practices. Computer programs and time management skills. Code of ethics; legal processes and procedures; accreditation and licensure standards; counseling theories and practices; mental health assessment and diagnosis; therapeutic models and interventions; foster care and adoptive issues. Hague compliance factors and required training for intercountry adoptions. Effective presentation skills. Self-motivated and self-management skills. Ability to function on a team. Effective skills in written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; climb up to 5 feet; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift up to 24 pounds and carry up to 24 pounds.
