Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri is seeking an individual to provide effective counseling/therapy to eligible individuals, couples and families who seek help for mental health related concerns on a contractual basis.
This position is located in the Arnold, Jefferson County area.
Duties include:
Provide effective counseling/therapy to clients including case coordination and crisis intervention as needed. Determine the type of therapy and best practices interventions to use with each client/family. Complete a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and treatment plan. Decide when termination is appropriate. Determine most effective response to crisis and other non-routine problems related to client and program need. Decide what information to include in case record. Maintain the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality. Maintain accurate and complete client records. Provide input and recommendations to program administration on program area of expertise and job related policies and procedures. Participate in peer consultation. Collaborate with community referrals as needed for client services and program development.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Therapist I– Masters degree in a mental health related field and actively obtaining supervision toward professional licensure (PLPC or LMSW) in the State of Missouri
Therapist II - Masters degree or higher in a mental health related field with professional license from the State of Missouri (LPC or LCSW) plus two years of clinical experience or a Provisional License (PLPC or LMSW) with five years experience.
Therapist III - Masters degree in a mental health related field with professional license from the State of Missouri as a Professional Counselor (LCSW or LPC) plus a minimum of five years of clinical experience
Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of counseling theories and practice, therapeutic models and interventions. Knowledge of mental health assessment and interventions. Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. Knowledge of community resources. Effective professional therapeutic skills. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to function on a team. Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate client records. Time management skills.
