Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri is seeking a compassionate, professional Social Worker or Case Manager for the Springfield Office to provide foster parent licensing, training and case management through our Springfield Partners program. They will have the opportunity to provide and maintain child welfare services, counseling and case management services to foster and adoptive families in the Springfield area.
This position may be filled as a Case Manager I/II or Social Worker I/II, depending upon the qualifications of the selected individual.
DUTIES
Provide effective counseling and case management to the client population. Establish and maintain appropriate, current community networks and interactions, in cooperation with program supervisors and staff. Provide consultation and input to leadership for the program as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED Education & Experience:
Case Manager I - Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Guidance Counseling, Drug & Alcohol Counseling or other Human Behavior Science. Two years experience with Child Welfare and Adoption and foster Care preferred.
Case Manager II - Master's Degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Guidance Counseling or Drug & Alcohol Counseling or other Human Behavior Science. Two years experience with Child Welfare and Adoptions and Foster Care.
Social Worker I - Bachelors of Social Work. Two years experience with Child Welfare and Adoption and Foster Care.
Social Worker II – Master’s of Social Work. Two years experience with Child Welfare and Adoption and Foster Care.
Compliance with the Hague treaty factors when working on intercountry adoptions.
Must be a licensed driver with access to a reliable automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Established social work and case management practices. Computer programs and time management skills. Code of ethics; legal processes and procedures; accreditation and licensure standards; counseling theories and practices; mental health assessment and diagnosis; therapeutic models and interventions; foster care and adoptive issues. Hague compliance factors and required training for intercountry adoptions. Effective presentation skills. Self-motivated and self-management skills. Ability to function on a team. Effective skills in written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
