Job Description

Lutheran Family & Children's Services of Missouri is seeking an individual to provide effective counseling/therapy to eligible individuals, couples and families who seek help for mental health related concerns on a contractual basis. This position will provide services to the St. Charles area. Services will be provided primarily within a school and clubhouse setting, with limited office hours. Duties include: Provide effective counseling/therapy to clients including case coordination and crisis intervention as needed. Maintain the highest Standards of ethics and confidentiality. Maintain accurate and complete client records. Participate in peer consultation. Collaborate with community networks including managed care/insurance companies as needed for client services and program development. Qualifications: Education and Experience: Master’s degree in a mental health related field with a professional license from the State of Missouri (LPC or LCSW) and two years of clinical experience or a provisional license (LMSW or PLPC) with five years of experience. Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of counseling theories and practice, therapeutic models and interventions. Knowledge of mental health assessment and interventions. Knowledge of ethical standards and legal regulations. Knowledge of managed care and insurance requirements. Knowledge of community resources. Effective professional therapeutic skills. Crisis intervention skills. Ability to function on a team. Communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to maintain accurate client records. Time management skills.
